The making of Dreamers Wings
Its all coming togther now, the characters, scenes, the story story board. The lion sketches was the first time that I've drawn something in that way. It was much easier than the way I drew the man silouettes.
The wings are for the front view of the male puppet, but i will have to hide them when at the back of him by the angle that I put them in, in the light.
I did the scene sketches in that way so that you can see how he wud be feeling in each scene.

Animal Audio
Four pages worth of film quotes. I numberd each one so that when it comes to picking them i can just write down the numbers, time saver.............................. ........... now just have to change the speech into a animal sound
Half way know |
Feeling a little relieved now because I was panicing when I couldnt think of anything and time was running out but, I have and it just needs to be edited now.
In my own time
The animation I want to get used to moving the characters, how to light the set, sunrise, sunset and shadows. I want to do like a jungle type set as I could put in a few background noises like water and animal noises. I'm going to make a waterfall from two long boxes, newspaper and tissue paper. for other parts like trees and grass I could use newspaper, glue and cotton wool. As for the character/s they will be made from plasticine, just not sure what to make.

The body |
I think the pasticine that I used for this is too weak to be able to stand, plus it gets stickey when it warms up so I wont be able to use this in the stop motion. Im still going to keep it as an ornament type thing and just make a better sterdier lion model (out of better plasticine).

New Audio
Finaly I have a new Audio idea. It came to me when I was playing a game. Took my mind of it for like 10 minutes then it hit me- do animal noises. Record some famouse film quotes, pick a few then turn them into animal sounds on Adobe Audition. Im doing animal sounds because its been a theme in my work.

WRITERS BLOCK!
I cant think of what to do. The more I think about it the more my mind goes blank. This is not good. Audio is hard for me to picture in my head, its not a picture it sounds and I cant picture sounds. This is getting frustrating! I have to think of something, I cant leave it as it is.

dreamers wings
I've wanted to do a puppet show a while so im going to take this opportunity to do it for this project. Making the puppets while be an interesting thing to design and to make the limbs move properly.
Limbo is a shadow puppet looking game because its all black and white. The shades of gray in the background gives it that 3D look instead of being a platform, it adds another layer which I think would be a useful asset for my video.
Isabella concentrates on the dream and make believe worlds for her inspiration. Her puppets look realy intricate and detailed, I shall do the best with mine. Basing some of her work on her dreams and then puting her thoughts into a different medium is something that I am interested in doing for this piece.
The music in the Disney films, Bambi and Fantasia mainly. The way that they use music for the actual sounds of things, i think is amazing and it gives me goosebumps. Iam going to try to use music to help move the story along and add a little tension in parts.
Silent films use title/descriptive cards to tell the viewers what is happening or being said. I am planing to use the cards in mine to say what is going to happen, have to see which will work best.

not working! (Audio)
Bit disspoined that it didnt work, you cant really make out what they say it just sounds like noises. the words and syllabuls that im looking for are to specific and some of the characters voices make it harder to hear. Need to think of another idea, but a simpler one this time.

Three Minute Video
For the shadow puppet theatre I used a see through white fabric and drew on the frame for where the shadows will be which was harder that I thought because all the lines were wavy or slanted and it took me a while to sort it but I got there in the end. I took it to college and one of my tutors suggested to stretch it over a wood like a canvas to keep it taut, and they happily made me one at the Art and Design building. I put masking tape around the shadow puppets frame and painted the boarder in black acrylic paint, which is the best paint to use on fabrics because its cheap, dries quick whereas oil paint would takes weeks to dry properly. I'll just smooth the edges over when it has dried. I just have to make the shadow characters and scenes which I am really looking forward to creating.

Audio Piece
Today we were given a project to produce an experimental audio piece. Because I want to do animation, I was thinking of doing something with the cartoon sounds and make a story from that. Then I thought about the Sex Pistols covers and how they use different texts that look like they have been torn out of a paper. I could mix them together to create different words said by different cartoon characters, and maybe but them into a quote of some sort.
Jamie Reid, who designed the famous covers for the Sex Pistols is who I'm talking my inspiration from because I think there could be a few more different ways that I could explore into my audio piece.
Idea 1- Use Jamie Reid's style of the "ransom note" to create a collage of words from different well known cartoon characters and make their catch phrases (or quotes) from them.
A- Possibley guess who says what?
B- Change the catch phrases for the confessionals of the character. Example- "I hate that rabbit"= Elmer Fudd.
Idea 1 is to complicated to do because the words are to unique to find instead of more commonly used words. I got the idea of the confessionals from a previouse project that I was given and I thought it would be a good angle to put onto this one. I could encorporate the guess who says what idea with the confessions.
I've recorded cartoon voices like Stewie Griffin, Mouse soup- Feeling good, Biker Mice from Mars, Looney Tunes and more. The snipits that I choose have the most used words like them, it, I, and, feel and so on, but they also have uncommon words like, king, queen, commoners, decenders.
I've wrote out all the recordings, used different colours for the different characters, lettered the seperate recordings and numbered the words so that when it comes to me writing down the words that I am going to use for the confessionals it will be easier to refer back to them when I get to the editing.
These are some character's confessional ideas. Just a few things on what they could have to hide, some work better than others.
